Glad it's just a few cuts and bruises and nothing broken, but as you said earlier, it could have been much worse. Nothing worse than inpatient, stupid drivers. But I'm glad you're okay. Stefan seems like a nice guy. Not sure what time you reached Redhill, but if you'd called me we could have nipped out for a quick coffee, although I don't blame you for not doing so; I know that if I had those injuries I'd have got home as soon as possible. I was amazed you rode the last 7.5 miles! I was glad, however, to note that you'd seen common sense and took the train home from Plymouth. Totally agree with you on the ticket off thing, they simply shouldn't be closed, they're far too important. I've struck up a good friendship with the ticket office people at Redhill. Hopefully, see you on Sunday but whatever you do, don't come out if you're not up to it, I wouldn't blame you and I know that (being more of a wimp than you are) I'd probably stay at home. Keep safe!!!!! I can't labour the point too strongly. There are bastards out there, alright, there are cunts out there! Try to avoid them. That said, there are waterproof rucksacks out there (on Amazon). I'm glad the days are getting lighter. My plan is to try and get back to four rides/week. I need to re-buy waterproof trousers (the pair I had were too small). You're right, more things go wrong if they're dirty and then there's that whole question about weighing up whether money is being saved by riding to work. My daily fare is £9.40 on the train so when I ride in I save that money, but in the general scheme of things, if something goes wrong with the bike, it wipes out the savings on the fares. Furthermore, a service is almost not worth it. Invariably I end up paying as much as the worth of buying a new bike. And talking of which, there's a bike in Halfords, new, for something like £170, so when I next get told my service will cost me £340, I might say 'don't bother, I'll buy two new bikes from Halfords and when one of them needs a service that invariably will cost more than the bike is worth, I'll ride the other one and then buy two more and on and on it will go until I have enough bikes to set up some kind of business. Crazy really.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14226348842824986383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5554644610251313480.post-68240887624283725552022-10-17T07:00:10.599+01:002022-10-17T07:00:10.599+01:00That looks incredible, making me hungry looking at...That looks incredible, making me hungry looking at it.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14226348842824986383noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5554644610251313480.post-28722662441278895742022-08-13T08:26:43.032+01:002022-08-13T08:26:43.032+01:00You beat your target time, ie under 30 minutes, we...You beat your target time, ie under 30 minutes, well done.
